SOME great coworkers (nights L&D), great pm tech to stock rooms, good ratios/staffing

OUTDATED equipment and rooms, sketchy parking lot safety, some unsafe OBs (MDs)!

Traveler-friendly if you are a hard worker and adaptable... but beware, the night secretary in L&D will chew u up and spit u out if she doesn't like you! Being a team-player here is important - then u will reap the rewards (relieving each other for hr breaks at night, nice periods of downtime). Even the busy periods don't seem as horrible to me as where I came from: a very frou-frou, private soccer-mom hospital in VA. Here, pts are 90% Spanish-speaking only, but usually very sweet. A lot of Phillippino nurses. There is the usual day vs night staff drama, but not too much! Some great charge nurses on nights (again, I am solely referring to Birthing Center), as well as GREAT techs to stock/scrub etc. The Nurse Manager is pretty clueless and not good at constructive criticism or motivating, she's very negative but I didn't have to deal with her on nights. The biggest CONS were old old old monitors, beds, etc, redundant paper charting, and some very unsafe/rude docs. Jerks! Just beware... I only liked/respected about 20% of the ones we normally worked with. The biggest PRO was the workload - nice and manageable, not too much or too little.
