Pros: None! But if the 'Art of Lying' is considered positive then.......
Cons: The staff are extremely nice to you (superficially) until you sign that contract. They lie to you over and over again. Your recruiter will make promises to you that he/she can't fulfill, or without the supervisor's approval, or simply forget what he/sh

Pros: Recruiters always available, reliable, free private housing, great insurance
Cons: none

Access Nurses always has a lot of assignments to pick from and i don't feel like the recruiters try to seel you something you dont want. My recruiter was always up front and honest with me and I had a great time for my first travel experience. I have not had one problem with them and i will continue to travel with them.

Pros: great housing, competitive pay
Cons: poor travel reimbursment for distance traveled, couldn't house my pets so now they're in a kennel, recruiter doesn't check up on me, no christmas incentive, only covers a % of utilities (you have to set this stuff up yourself and pay your own deposits!)

My recruiter has always been really nice to me, but she never calls me to check on how my assignment is going. The housing is great. Quiet, secluded, and gated. But I had to set up all my utilities and pay my own deposits! Plus they only cover 75 bucks a month for utilities. Bonus? What bonus? No completion bonuses were offered. Wages are fairly competitive. Plenty of assignments to choose from. No christmas incentive however except for holiday pay. I've seen other companies giving visa gift cards and flying their nurses home for christmas! You have to wait like 1.5 months for your benefits to kick in! I've already spent 100 bucks on dental care alone! Not worth it in my opinion

Pros: Comprehensive Packages, more than just a job.
Cons: I could always use more money. ;-)

I liked the availability of jobs, and the full service travel department. The recruiters are salespeople so keep that in mind, though I haven't had any dodgy spiels yet.

Pros: Recruiters tell you what you want to hear.
Cons: Recruiters lie as a rule of thumb and perpetually blow smoke up your ***

This company is the most unprofessional company I have EVER worked for. I signed up for the "earning power" program. I was told that I would very rarely be called off, maybe once every two months. Then, after I drove 1700 miles to get to my assignment, I was called off at least 4/7 shifts that I signed up for. To the point that I actually had to get a "real" job three weeks after my assignment started to compensate for lost hours. Fair warning: this "earning power" program is nothing more than the travel agency using you as per diem. Other problems: the recruiters were calling my home in Texas to confirm me for shifts in California. One day the agency booked me for two hospitals on accident. I found out when the hospital that got stiffed left a message my cell phone asking where I was. Seems that the agency didn't know where I was either, as the agency called an hour later asking the same question. All the while I was on shift at the other hospital that the agency had sent me to, completely oblivious to the mess that the agency had created. Or how about the time that the recruiter booked me from 7a-7p when we had agreed the day before on 7p-7a? These people are just as clueless as they come. Run, run, run away from this agency!!!! And be very suspicious of any posts that tout them as wonderful. It seems that they have some great internet marketing gurus.....

Pros: My recruiter seems to be honest, I think so.
Cons: The Company only looks for the MIGHTY DOLLAR, I have done two contracts and finished them but I decided not to fulfill or start the third contract and was charging me $750.00. Their collection officer TIM treated me over the phone like a low life criminal

I would not recommend the company to any nurses because they seems to be for your welfare but if you cancel a contract or they think you have done something wrong without talking to you, they will cut you off from the pay and no matter how valid your reason for cancelling a contract you have not started they will collect from you and will treat you and HARASS you. BE CAREFUL ON TIM, .

Pros: assignment close to my daughter
Cons: they lie and cheat

I TOOK THIS ASSIGNMENT WITH THEM BECAUSE I NEEDED TO BE CLOSE TO MY DAUGHTER BECAUSE WE ARE STARTING HER WEDDING PLANS. THEY LIED ABOUT THE ASSIGNMENT, THE PAY, THE TRAVEL EXPENSES AND THEY CHARGED ME FOR INSURANCE FROM DAY ONE KNOWING I COULDN'T GET INSURANCE UNTIL 45 DAYS AFTER I STARTED. THEY DIDN'T KNOW I HAD TO TAKE A 4 HOUR TEST PRIOR TO GOING TO WORK FOR AN HCA HOSPITAL AND IF I FAILED IT I HAD TO GO HOME. THEY DIDN'T KNOW ABOUT THE UNIFORMS THEY REQUIRED AND I DIDN'T HAVE AND HAD TO GO OUT AND BUY ON SATURDAY PRIOR TO STARING MONDAY. THEY DID NOT TELL ME THEY WERE CHARGING MY PAY CHECK FOR THE DRUG SCREEN THEY REQUIRED AND FAILED TO TELL ME ANYTHING ABOUT IT. I AM ONLY MAKING 24.00HRY AND THEY WERE CHARGING ME 2.00HRY FOR INSURANCE I DIDN'T HAVE. AFTER SCREAMING AT THEM THEY GAVE ME BACK 1.75HRLY FOR WHAT THEY HAD CHARGED ME. THEN THEY SCREWED UP AND PAID ME INSTEAD OF THE APARTMENT COMPLEX AND NOW ARE TAKING 100.00 PER PAYCHECK TO MAKE UP FOR THAT MISTAKE THEY MADE. THEY HAVE ALSO CHARGED ME FOR UTILITIES BACAUSE THEY ONLY PAY 100.00 A MONTH AND HERE I AM IN TEXAS (ONE OF THE HOTTEST STATED). MY RECRUITER IS STUPID AND DOSEN'T KNOW WHAT SHE IS DOING. SO I WON'T EVEN SPEAK TO HER WHEN SHE CALLS, EVERY WEEK!!!!!!!!! I HAVE NEVER RECIEVED ANY OF MY PROMISED TRAVELING EXPENSES. I WOULDN'T LET A DOG WORK FOR THIS COMPANY AND WILL NEVER WORK FOR THEM AGAIN!!!

Pros: Very friendly staff, competitve pay, private housing, free health benefits
Cons: Not many assignments in Alabama or Montana where I would like to go

I am on my 4th assignment with Access. I talked to many other travel agencies before deciding to go with them (AMN, Intelistaff, Aureus, Cross Country, to name a few). Most of the companies offer very similar packages...some have better housing, some have better benefits, some have better travel pay. The reason I went with Access was because of the staff. My recruiter is Ali and she has been ABSOLUTELY WONDERFUL! I know she's been with the company for awhile. She's always honest and realistic about what she can offer for each assignment. I've learned through experience and through meeting other travel nurses that each hospital and each area of the country is completely different about what they pay and what they require prior to starting the assignment. Ali has always sets the right expectation for me. Plus, their receptionist is so friendly when she answers the phone and anytime I have had any issue, the staff gets back to me immediately. I never feel like I'm out on my own because I know I always have my company to back me up. My only complaint is that I have family I'd like to visit in Alabama and Montana and they don't have a lot of assignments available. If Access can find an assignment for me, I will never leave them!

Pros: Awesome customer service
Cons: Nothing so far

One of the things I found very accomodating with Acess is that I am always able to get a hold of my recruiter. They are also very willing to negotiate anything I need into my package. I was traveling with my large dog and they found houing for us no problem. I took an assignment with them in San Diego and was able to meet a lot of the recruiters and company heads at a gathering they threw for their nurses. That was very cool. I am on my second assignment with them now in NYC and their housing is awesome right on the park. I love it.

Pros: Private housing, high salaries
Cons: No international travel jobs, but no other agency has them so this is more of a con to the industry

My experience with Access Nurses has been unlike any other agency I've travelled with. They are personal and will work hard to get the assignment you want.

Pros: Friendly Service
Cons: No completion or longevity bonuses

I have completed 2 contracts with Access Nurses. My recruiter Vivien has been professional, thorough and ready to go to the mat to get me what I want. There was a small SNAFU when they changed over payroll companies on a Friday, but they wired the difference (at their expense) by Friday afternoon. I highly recommend them.

Pros:
Cons:

I have contacted and spoken to several travel companies as I like to make really informed decisions. I have been impressed with some but this one was horrible!

The guy who I spoke with was like a used car saleman. Pushy and a stench of dishonesty. He just wanted the sale!

He DEMANDED to know how much I was making at my current position. I said "no one has asked me that before". He said he HAD to know to make sure he could get me the right job and rate. I told him I knew what the going travel rate was in the area I was looking and THAT is what I wanted and my current pay rate had nothing to do with it. I told him I was uncomfortable with this question and his pushyness to get it (he wanted to talk about nothing else than this). This just made him MORE pushy if you can believe it! He said he had to know to go forward with my application and to even tell me about any positions he had. He said they were a top agency and if I was not going to give him that info I probably was not a good applicant. Yeah right! Note: I get top notch references! He then treated me like I was a sub-par applicant for not giving him this info. When I said "nevermind, your weird agressiveness is making me uncomfortable" he then said that he was coached by his company to get this info and tried to use that as an excuse. That makes it worse!

I wrote them off! It is looks like a lie and it smells like a lie, move on!

their rating on this site is not good enough to try another recruiter when so many other people are very professional.

Pros: Great recruiter (MaryBeth), competitive pay/housing
Cons: not as many positions as I would like back East (VA, DC, NC)

Access is the only company I've worked with, since trying out the world of Travel Nursing in Aug. '07 (w/ 2+ yrs experience as an L&D RN). I've been VERY VERY satisfied with the service from my recruiter, MaryBeth. She's almost always prompt at getting in touch or replying to my questions/concerns. I know they ALL talk the talk when it comes to negotiating contracts, but she sure comes off as honest and I want to believe that she really is trying to do right by me. I'm not sure how I feel about the fact that Access "plays with" their $$ figures so much - I think I like the flexibility. Depending on what they decide they can give you tax-free (and it's not a ton, versus the popular Procare One Nurses here in CA, but I hear they/YOU can get in trouble for all that tax-free $$), they can change your hourly rate a little in exchange for reimbursements such as gas, gym membership money, internet/cable, etc. COnfusing, but if u are curious and want to know more, just msg me.
I loved my housing in Washington DC and my place in Costa Mesa, CA was pretty nice, but not nearly as upscale, IMO (my recruiter chalked it up to CA cost of living, but DC is almost as bad!!). When I renewed in CA, I took the housing stipend and picked my own place... it was very reasonable and worth it.
The company seems to have a smaller feel than the big-timers (AMN, Preferred), and they proudly advertise this point. It seems that they stay on top of things really well, but maybe I just got lucky w/ my recruiter... I was sad to see all these bad reviews. Maybe I'm just still naive, but I really don't have any complaints besides the "con" above... I'd like to get back East for a bit and they really push California! ha.

Pros: reasonable availability of assignments, safe housing
Cons: there are TONS .. see below

Access.. The idea of a "used car salesman" hits it right on the head. Charlie has been my recruiter. And as long as I am working and putting money in his pocket.. he could care less about the situations he placed me in. They NEVER offer you top dollar.. you have to negotiate, hagle, and be overly agressive over SEVERAL phone calls just to get the same rate at a facility.. that other travelers got without difficulty from other agencies.

They offer no bonuses. NONE. If the hospital offers a bonus.. they won't even tell you about it.

They will not go to bat for you with the facility you are working in. They assume the nurse is bad.

Health benefits.. its a joke. On top of the fact that.. my recruiter convinced me to forgo my benefits my first assignment for an extra .50cents an hour. TOld me I could pick them up on my second assignment. FALSE. NOw they are supposedly compensating my hourly for the the loss of benefits since I can't get benefits til open enrollment - which is a year from when I started. Come to find out..another nurse at the same facility with NO travel experience (vs my year of traveling) was making 2 dollars more an hour PLUS benefits.

They are fraudulent in their unkept promises.

DO NOT RECOMMEND. RUN AWAY!!!!!!
