Me and my girlfriend started having problems with American Mobile from the beginning. They messed up her starting date so she had to pay housing expenses for a week. She also quit her regular job and lost a week worth of wages. They also messed up her tax documents so she got taxed on the housing. With me, they "just" messed up the facility I was going to be working at. I was promised a nice hospital in San Diego but once I started signing the contract it was a different hospital in a shady neighbourhood. They just seem to be very disorganized and managing things poorly. Also, good luck trying to fix their own mistakes, it takes days to get in touch with a recruiter. We just decided to finish one assignment with them and get with another agency. Any recommendations?

Don't sign up with American Mobile!!!
I worked with them for one assignment (my first). They have the worst pay rate. If you compare several companies, you will see that they have the lowest bonus amount when a facility offers a bonus for completion or sign on. They do have multiple branches of their company, so watch out for that. too. My recuiter was good, but when they shorted me nearly $1000 out of my check just before Christmas and I lost it. Their plan was just to put it in my next check in two weeks. I feel if there is that big of a difference, they should and can dispense a check upon notification. They charged me a deposit fee for my housing of $300. They didn't return it until I contacted them. I did get the deposit back, but two months after my assignment ended.
They have a great advertisement team and their company starts with an "A", so they are one of the first agencies you will come into contact with. They should absolutely be the last one you sign up with.

RECRUITER WAS NICE, AND VAGUE. DID NOT KNOW THE ANSWER. NEVER GOT BACK TO ME.
FACILITY REFUSED TO HONOR CONTRACT OF 3 12HR SHIFTS AND 36HR GUARANTEE. AMA DEDUCTED HOUSING STIPEN EVERY TIME THEY CALLED ME OFF. LOST $700
DON'T USE THEM. IF YOU HAVE TO, GET IT IN WRITTING EVEN THEN IT WON'T HAPPEN.

I worked on contract at one hospital for 18 months with AMN and finally got so disgusted with them that I went to another company.. DNS hosed me 2 wks early, ending my contract, and instead of going after them, they deducted my stipend and then had the gaul to refuse to pay me my "completion" bonus... They also gave me the runaround many times, and they also try to nickle and dime you to death, very stingy... If you can travel to a hospital owned by HCA, give "All About Staffing" a try... TOP pay, huge tax free stipend, and never once did they take away any of my stipend if I missed a shift.. "If you make a habit of it we may, but not for an occassional missed shift", and that is exactly the way they were... Trying to go back to work for them now, unfortunately I took a permenent position where I am now at..

Bottom line...I was told "I's nothing personal, it's just business." When I am out on assignment and my recruiter is my lifeline, you bet your britches it's personal.
