As a new travel nurse I went with Aureus only to find out later that it was a BAD decision! My recruiter Rachel Kipple was SO nice in the beginning. Why not, she got what she wanted! She promised me a $1500 completion bonus then toward the end of the contract with a pending extension...she conveniently got selective amnesia and forgot about the bonus. She then accused me of having spoken to another agency and said maybe they promised me a bonus, but it wasn't her. I told them that I would honor my contract and finish it out, but as to an extension, I was going with a different agency. The next day her supervisor Vanessa called me and threatened me. Told me that I would have to go up before "the board" and they would have to determine if I could still work for Aureus. Clearly she didn't hear me say "I don't want to work for you anymore." Withing 3 hours I had a new contract with New Directions that paid way more than Aureus was willing to give. Stay away from these people! They are nothing more than low paying, lying bullies!!

very poor staffing, most weekends 1 CNA to a med surg floor for 24+ patients. Nurse managers interview patients for Press Ganey despite the poor staffing and ask what the staff could do better to make their stay improved.
Nurses are overwhelmed and no one cares.
The residents use the nurses as an information center instead of reading the chart...

Worked here for 2 years as a staff nurse and loved it. In the MICU and the patients are very sick and very high acuity, lots of CVVH and swans. Lots of MD support at night. The hospital just added a state of the art cardiac building, has a women's building with a great NICU, and main building with adults is very large. The union works hard for their nurses, top pay in boston, and great benefits. Multiple medical plans to choose from. 24hour aubon pain is great! parking is tough for day staff, you get shuttled in from outside location, but night staff parks down the street and it is free. Overall, great hospital to work at and learn.

sloan-kettering is a great cancer institute, one of the best places to work for an ICU nurse. the ICU is brand new with very high tech equipment, except for the IV pumps are outdated. Lots of ancillary support, but techs can be lazy. NP's as well as MD's in ICU. Always well staffed, usually 1:1's, but acuity is low, so usually a nice easy night. The nurses are very welcoming to travelers, about half the night staff is travelers, but most have been here over a year because they are allowed to keep renewing as long as they need them.

Scripps Green Hospital is a small hospital with an urgent care center, no ER, 24 bed ICU, telemetry floor, BMT floor, and multiple med surg floors. It is a big cardiac hospital with a high cardiac catheterization patient load, cardiac surgery, and transplant center (livers, kidney, pancreas). i worked in the ICU, found the staff to be very friendly, welcoming, and overall very competent. The attendings are there all night as well as residents. And all the attendings are very smart, receptive to their nurses, and easy to get along with. All negative part was I floated to the tele floor and BMT frequently due to low census. On the weekends, the census drops off significantly due to the hospital having OR schedules and cath schedules during the week, so I would get canceled or float. But both BMT and tele have a 3 patient max. The ICU also has step down patients, usually cardiac cath patients, so you could have 3 patients if they are all caths. But overall, a pretty easy place to work.

Great until I signed on the dotted line. Paid substantialy less than offered after I arrived at location. Apt in poor location. Recruiter never there when I called and didnt return my calls. Lights out in stairway at apt, fell and broke my ankle. missed 1 shift (was in er) was charged for shift missed. Worked remaining contract in a boot. Obviously I wasnt a person, just a moneymaker for them.

I can't say enough good things about Medical Solutions. Chris, my recruiter, is great. He's concerned about me - as a person not just a nurse, and has gone out of his way to make my life as a traveller a lot easier. Would recommend this agency and Chris to snyone.

I worked on contract at one hospital for 18 months with AMN and finally got so disgusted with them that I went to another company.. DNS hosed me 2 wks early, ending my contract, and instead of going after them, they deducted my stipend and then had the gaul to refuse to pay me my "completion" bonus... They also gave me the runaround many times, and they also try to nickle and dime you to death, very stingy... If you can travel to a hospital owned by HCA, give "All About Staffing" a try... TOP pay, huge tax free stipend, and never once did they take away any of my stipend if I missed a shift.. "If you make a habit of it we may, but not for an occassional missed shift", and that is exactly the way they were... Trying to go back to work for them now, unfortunately I took a permenent position where I am now at..

I have been with NursesRx for almost 3 years, from the beginning I had problems. My first recruiter was an absolute JOKE...she never called me back she would have her assistant call me back who was absolutely CLUELESS...bless her heart. I have a new recruiter who since day one was awesome, we hadd a great professional relationship and an even greater friendship!! Due to the fact that I (in my opinion is the reason)had a "rough patch" where I was unable to work and I had to cancel 2 assignments she has since turned on me. I have had many problems with payroll, HOUSING,insurance, contract issues, low pay and lack of bonuses. On one particular assignment I had to pay my cable, I was charged for being cancelled at the faclilty and the paperwork to be faxed in was ridiculous. Several times I had to fax and re-fax forms and was even told to overnight paperwork at my expense. I wouldn't recommend this company and I cant say I will travel anymore, it seems they are all SHADY and unaccomodating.

This has been the very worst of the hospitals that I have ever worked at on assignment as a travel nurse or as a staff nurse. During my contract the O.R. charge nurse quit working in the O.R. and transferred to the PACU. The O.R. head nurse was fired from her position the day my wife and I completed our contract there and the O.R. coordinator was given eight weeks to correct the problems there and quit before this deadline was reached. I'm not sure if the supervisary positions have improved with the new people or not but there is another part to the Roswell experience.
I have never been anyplace where there is such a high percentage of negative, unhappy and mean group of surgeons. Surgeons by the their nature are egotiscal people to begin with but when you add unhappiness about being where they are and letting that negativity rise to the surface every chance they get, then you start experiencing verbal abuse and scorn over every little thing they can make up. We suggest that you take any job anywhere else in New Mexico than to put yourself out in the middle of nowhere in Roswell.
I've have worked in the O.R.s since 1972 and have been traveling since 2001. I know what I'm talking about and will testify in front of congress the FACTS I've just stated. Be Cautious And Take Care Of Yourself First.
