    Drawing Blood, Giving Shots, Mathmatics

    Hello,
I am a 26 year old college student from Ohio. I have a question about nursing in regards to giving shots, drawing blood, and math. I suck at math...I want to go into nursing but I am afraid of screwing up with mathmatical things. such as prescriptions and stuff. I actually am dyslexic with math. I will at times read the numbers wrong but the odd thing about is, it only occurs when someone asks me to do math outloud in front of them. my brain locks up and doesnt work. I am good with a calc and figuring money and stuff. Once I graduate from nursing school, is there alot of math on the job or in the NCLEX?
Also...i am scared that when I go to draw blood of give shots I will either do it wrong or hurt someone seriously....how do i get over that fear? Is anyone else afraid of this too?

practice, practice, practice with the math and the shots/blood everything. When you calculate your math figure it more then once. Once you've been on the job and done the math many times you should get to know if what you've figured is an unreasonable amount.
