    Botox treatment as a sideline

I'm in the UK and wondered if anyone else had tried this?

A friend of mine works in the cosmetics/beauty industry and says they're crying out for someone to offer botox injections. And it seems very lucrative.

Been looking into it and the law seems a bit vague. Just wondered if anyone had tried it?

I would say we would assist the MD. Would have to ask a friend of mine who is an RN/Esthetician.

No. This would be obtaining the necessary botox etc. and performing the injections independently.

In the UK, this is unregulated at the moment. A nurse would be considered qualified enough to do this if they'd also had maybe a 1 day botox training course and was proficient in giving injections.

Oh boy, 1 day of training is not enough. I'd rather see the nurse train with an MD. Too much can go wrong.

I absolutely agree that the liability would be HUGE..... Too much can go wrong with Botox and if not under the license of a MD, it would seem to me that you are basically practicing medicine so could be sued.... :-(

Interesting question, would talk to an esthetician in your area. Find out where botox shots are available and ask about what kind of training/supervision is involved.

Usually Botox injections (by prescription only) are given under the supervision of a medical director here in the United States.

Do your research before you jump in to hang a shingle. Botox is big money for Medical Spas and Doctor's offices. You'll have some stiff competition if you're looking to break into the field.

    Hope that is helpful.
