Hi Everyone,

I'm a nurse who is working on a masters degree in health informatics (http://healthinformatics.dal.ca). I'm hoping to focus my thesis on converting freetext nursing documentation into a structured terminology (which - for lack of a better explanation, would make the documentation "understandable" to a computer).

While I won't bore you with details (unless you ask), I was hoping I could recruit some of you to help me out. The problem is I need a large set of examples to help me in my research. These examples are just simple sentences of text which you would write in your documentation (or for that matter 'speak' during shift change). I don't want anything confidential or anything perfect - just general examples of nursing documentation.

To help in this collection process - I've developed a small web application (did I mention I was also a bit of a computer geek) to help collect this data. If you are interested in helping me out, surf over to http://ndep.stemos.com. There are more details on the website, and you are free to contribute as little or as much as you want.

Thanks a bunch,
Robin

PS - I do realize that this is somewhat spammish and I'm sorry if this offends anyone.

PPS - You are my first attempt at recruiting people to participate - so please feel free to send me (harsh or nice) feedback. Either through the bulletin board or through the contact email posted on the website.

PPPS - Please feel free to share this site with anyone you want.
