Health insurance--eligible for Cobra?

Hi Travelers,
Just started a new assignment and have a possible meniscus tear. If hospital cancels my contract am I elgible for Cobra or am I considered to be a self-employed contractor? I'm in a bad spot--it hospital cancels contract, Cigna coverage ends my last day worked. MRI done 3 days later due to needing a precert. Anyone ever in this position? I travel with American Mobile and am unhappy with them...

I believe you are eligible for cobra. call HR of your company ASAP.
