This is an interesting article: VITAL STATS: National Nursing Home Week helps educate the public about long-term facilities | SCNow

Life expectancy in the United States is at a record high and currently there are nearly 2 million people in the United States living in nursing homes and assisted care facilities. This number will do nothing but continue to grow, increasing the need to provide quality care and recognize the individuals who make a difference in others’ lives.

Sponsored by the American Health Care Association, National Nursing Home Week helps educate the public about long-term facilities, the services they provide and how they meet the needs of each of their residents. This year’s National Nursing Home Week will be May 9-15.

The theme is “Enriching Every Day”, which was selected to honor those who overcome the obstacles of age and disability to enrich the lives of others. National Nursing Home Week not only spotlights nursing home residents but staff and volunteers as well, all of which make a positive difference and ‘enrich every day’ for others.

In honor of National Nursing Home Week, Marion Regional Healthcare System would like to recognize Mullins Nursing Center, its staff, volunteers, residents and their families.
