    Propspective nurse seeks advice

I am in my 10th year of being an elementary school teacher.
In 1997, while in the hospital after giving birth to my first son, I was extremely impressed and motivated by the compassionate, caring RNs I came into contact with. Since then, I have seriously contemplated returning to school to become a nurse. I have taken all but two prerequisite courses and am ready to apply to a local nursing program.
I am plagued with whether or not I am making the right decision to leave the teaching profession. I keep telling myself to be practical, to stay in my chosen field and just be happy- but I keep feeling this pull to join you all. I would greatly appreciate feedback and advice to help with my decision.
    Thanks in advance.

All I can say is follow you heart. You feel you are having a calling to join the nursing profession. May choose to go into peds so you will still be caring for children or go on to be a nursing instructor so you will still be teaching. Once again follow your heart it will lead you where you need to be.

    Good luck
