Congrats to you all: TheTandD.com | Practical Nursing Class of 2009 honored

The Orangeburg-Calhoun Technical College Practical Nursing Class of 2009 was honored during a pinning and awards ceremony held July 28 at First Baptist Church of Orangeburg.

Forty-two graduates were pinned during the ceremony.

Several students were recognized for outstanding performance. Janice Williams received the First Place Scholastic Award, Denika Moorer received the Second Place Scholastic Award, Angela Keele and Portia Reed received Clinical Excellence Awards and Joann Dunning was selected by her classmates as the recipient of the Best All Around Award.

During the school year, members of the Class of 2009 held several fundraisers. The class chose to use the money raised to support the work of the newly opened Orangeburg/Calhoun Medical Free Clinic. On Aug. 5, class members presented a $600 check to the Orangeburg/Calhoun Medical Free Clinic during the clinic's ribbon-cutting ceremony.
