    Using pedometers...

Good story. I recently bought a pedometer, and try to attain a specific goal each day. Of course, it all varies.

I have a couple but usually don't put them on my best one needs a battery. I have been going in early and riding the bike in the gym 5 miles before work.

Have walked as little as one mile a day, and as much as 5 miles or more. All varies. I have to total up the weeks' cumulative miles 'one day' .

Years ago, I wore one at work; walked 7 miles in one 12 hr. night shift. No wonder I slept so well back then...

I hear ya, ricu. Sometimes, though, I am so worn out, I can't sleep; then I wake up sore as all heck.

Need a new battery for the pedometer.

As for swimming....the Y is the only pool nearby; also too expensive. And aerobics? I swear I get enough work out at work. Have to watch my knees; orthopod's orders. so no aerobics.
