I was chapter president inschool long ago. NSNA is worth being in. What you do with your local chapter is up to you. I had monthly meetings. Tried to get speakers on different topics of interest ie: different paths to take in nursing...had a midwife, flight nurse, missionary nurse. We did fund raisers to get money to go to state convention. Those things also look good no that first resume. But being active now in your school nursing association will help you see it's good to be active when you are out in your state association to help set the tone of nursing in your state.
It really doesn't take that much time and get other officers to help spread the joy
