Your years being an LPN are invaluable. Unfortunately, being an RN is different.. I was an LPN for 17 years myself. Glad I was an LPN certainly. Most travel companies require 1 year of experience in a speciality as an RN.. Some hospitals are now requiring 2 years.. They want someone who requires very little or NO orientation..
Good luck

Hello Veda,
When you become an RN it restarts the clock as far as experience goes. Try to find a job close to home where you can learn and polish your skills, then in a year or two you can start traveling and the sky's the limit.
You can find some helpful articles and a list of agencies that use LPNs at: http://www.nursefriendly.com/traveler/
Wish you lots of luck.
