A happy work envorinment is one where clear and open communication is the norm. Everyone should work to the best of their ability and feel valued because of it. Opportunities to reach one's full potential should be available and each should be encouraged to do so and supported through the process. Finally, detractors should be swiftly but fairly dealt with. A positive work environment is something to be defended and by everyone, not just management.
