Fayetteville State University hopes to get its nursing program reinstated after its students scored 100 percent on licenses tests.

The Fayetteville Observer reported Tuesday that the school plans to submit an application with the state Board of Nursing.

Chancellor James Anderson said Monday the good grades by the university's May nursing graduates indicates the program is turning around. The school says all 27 nursing students taking the test passed on their first attempt.

The nursing board is expected to consider the application in February. If the request is approved, the program could resume in the fall.

Anderson suspended admissions to the program in May of last year, citing low test scores, infighting and a poor public perception.
