From the Sentinel: Licensure exam is total success for LSCC nursing graduates -- OrlandoSentinel.com

Lake-Sumter Community College reports that all of its 2008 nursing alumni who took the required Florida National Council Licensure Examination for Registered Nurses passed the exam on their first try.

The state Board of Nursing in its second-quarter summary said 14 of 32 nursing schools had all their graduates pass the exam -- LSCC was among those successful 14 schools.

LSCC's nursing program also has its largest group of students moving on to the second year of the program.

This fall, 85 students are expected to complete their final year of studies.

The school's associate degree program in nursing is accredited by the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools. It also is approved by the Florida Board of Nursing.

As part of a partnership with the University of Central Florida, LSCC's nursing graduates are guaranteed admission as juniors into the university's bachelor's degree program in nursing.
