I know Mary77 asked about the possibilty of allergic reactions to the Hepatitis B Vaccine Series in November 2006, but this was before I was part of your forum. I would be glad to discuss what I know about this subject matter, but be advised I am no expert. At one time I was a primary investigator on a small CDC immunization research project that spaned 5 years of data gathering but it was not specific nor inclusive of Hepatitis B Vaccine Series. The Hepatitis B Vaccine Series has a "warning" on it's VIS Vaccine Information Sheet (back page upper left hand corner). I believe it is the only vaccine with a "warning" related to the YEAST content (base of the immunization). There were Congressional Hearing held in 1997 related to the number of allergic reactions reported to the VAERS Vaccine Adverse Event Reporting System. I did read where someone mentioned 22,000 allergic reactions, the last time I checked the data it is closer to 37,000, and the VAERS reseachers fully admit this is an under-reported number. There is research available related to this vaccine and it relationship to the development of autoimmune diseases.
