It's a challenging subject. It seems strange that individual rights which most of the time are championed above most other things, are compromised over the issue of tattoos. A person can wear very seductive clothing or multiple piercings at work but must cover the tattoo? My facility is pretty relaxed about tattoos however there are certain departments whose directors are more strict and want to try to interpret what might be offensive. On a similar note, we have a kid working in the dietary department who usually wears "guages" in his ears however, must remove them for work. What is left are the pathetic remains of his once fine earlobes hanging like flesh colored spaghetti from the sides of his head. Ridiculous, really. I think I'd rather have him wear the "hubcaps" in his ears, he might look better. I don't think there's a right answer.

I have more than a few tattoos. Some are visible at work. There is only one that does not get seen at work. I have a very large tattooed Marijuana leaf on my calf. Not because I smoke pot . But because I support the legalization of MJ. I also stand for the ending of this crazy, costly, ineffective, ridiculous Drug War waged by the Federal Gov't

Attracted to the filed of nursing

It attracted me to the field of nursing because I like to experience the feeling of into an O.R because later on I will took up masterals about medical surgical nursing. I am curious about the inside body of human in my own eyes so, it attracted me to this field.

I work with the elderly. I was attracted to the field because as a child, my grandfather lived with us. My parents both worked full time so, we took care of each other. That relationship stuck with me throughout my whole life, and I realized, as an undergrad, that I wanted to help the elderly and their families overcome the struggles of the role reversal and guilt associated with helping an aging loved one. Caring for the elderly isn't the most traditional route but, I love it. I am a male nurse, and it can be difficult to deal with emotions from time to time. However, without my job, I would have never been able to fill the void I had after my grandfather passed before I went to college.

Nursing...It was the most popular course during our time and I want to be in the medical field, because I think people in this field are highly regarded and well respected...it’s nice to see nurses with their caps on and their white uniforms!
