anyone know anything about the TEAS Test?

Hi I am a 43 yr old trying to get into the LVN program. I have to take the TEAS test on Oct. 2, 2004. How hard is it? Is it computerized? Can anyone tell me anything about it? Thank you.

    Hi,

Haven't taken the test myself, you can find information on it at these websites, the do have a study guide available if you'd like to prepare beforehand:

Test of Essential Academic Skills (TEAS), Lamar State College-Orange:"The Test of Essential Academic Skills (TEAS) is required for admission into the vocational nursing program. The TEAS is a 4-part assessment consisting of reading comprehension, math, science, and language skills. Each section is timed with one minute and fifteen seconds per question for a total testing time of 3 hours and 29 minutes. A score report is generated at the conclusion of the test session. The exam is administered on computer, by appointment, at a cost of $26. A limited number of study guides are available at the Lamar State College – Orange Library. Study guides can also be ordered from Assessment Technologies Institute at www.atitesting.com. Cost of the guide is $25."

Test of Essential Academic Skills (TEAS), Assessment Technologies Institute, LLC, (ATI):"The Test of Essential Academic Skills (TEAS) is a scholastic aptitude assessment that can be used as one component of the selection process for admitting students into post-secondary education programs. Screening qualified candidates for college admission is crucial for best matching of available resources to individuals with a minimum level of ability relevant to program study requirements. The goal is to predict those candidates with the highest likelihood of academic success in a future area of study. Content and psychometric experts helped develop the test construction process to ensure content relevance, accuracy, statistical strength, and integrity of the test. A random sampling of geographically diverse state standards for the selection and use of assessment instruments was performed to guide the development of the assessment blueprint and objectives for the TEAS."

Re: anyone know anything about the TEAS Test?

Hi, I took the teas in May. I was told to study like I was taking the GED. Study math, reading, writing and science. There are study guides specifically for TEAS. Go to ATI testing, there should be a link to purchase study
materials. If you decide to study GED, I purchased review books at Barnes and Noble. I passed my TEAS with great scores I didn't think it was that hard. I start my LPN program next week. I am 41 years old and haven't been to school in 23 years.

Where did you take the TEAS? The nursing school I applied to is in Texas and I am currently in New Jersey. I called ATI and they said there wa sonly one school in NJ that gives this test...is this correct? I need more than one option as I need to take it by 01 April!!!!!!
