It's hard to believe that this thread is still alive after all these months. It really has stirred up a lot of conversation, but also a lot of unnecessary hard feelings and negativity. Perhaps it should be laid to rest, locked so that folks might avoid a kneejerk negative response resulting in embarrassment and bad feelings towards the site.
So it's true. Women are always looking at men's crotches.
Why would you want to censor this thread.. I suppose someone is twisting your arm to read it...Stop stopping by to check it out...

OMG....
Being a male nurse, I at first was startled, than pissed off, then just started laughing about the responses. But since so many others did, I guess I should chime in.
Believe it or not, I do believe ALL nurses should still wear all white. It sets us apart from other people in the facility, and assists in looking more professional (usually). I know not everyone buys into that, so ... that's ok ... I'll just keep wearing my whites and let everyone else wear what they want...as long as it's professional.
Since I do wear all white, I do wear a tshirt most of the time because I don't think my patients need to be seeing my chest, chesthair, or anything else that my be lingering beneath my top. As far as "drawers" go, I used to wear those damn bikini briefs, but got too much kiddng about it. Now I wear boxer briefs while I'm at work--boy, can you imagine how many people I would offend if I went "commando" while wearing whites...rofl. BTW...I would never humiliate myself or my masculinity by wearing women's underclothes.
As far as the comments on men and caring...I remember seeing an article a couple of years back quoting a study that showed male nurses were more compassionate and caring. Go Figure.
Can't wait to get some responses!!
Shawn Elander, RN
Love your response Shawn!
My significant other is a male nurse....he also wears teh boxers under his uniform....although he "goes commando" @ any other time. He always looks professional.
And I have seen him after he works a shift when he's had to call CHS because a child has been brought to the ER under suspicious circumstances. The males I know in teh nursing profession are as much so if not MORE compassionate than the females.
