Some male nurses, however, are quite feminine in appearance and dress accordingly, including one particularly sweet boy who works the night shift at the hospital where I work. He's just out of nursing school and and of course, ladies uniform tops and bottoms

I am starting nursing school in the fall, and right now I am getting all my prereqs done.
It never entered my mind that there were different scrubs for males and females, they all kind of looked alike to me - baggy tops and baggy pants. When I am in hospitals as a non-med I looked at doctors and male and female nurses, they all looked alike to me what the guys or girls wear. What am I missing?
HOw do I know if a scub is a male or female scub? Are there any colors (besides the obvious pink and flowered designed) that are only to be worn by females?
I bought a couple of new cheap scubs at a local close out sale- how do I know if I bought male or female scubs? They are blue, and I was using them for exercising at the current time, and I was planning on wearing them in school.
When I start nursing school, are they going to tell me what Kind of scubs to get? and what color? does it matter if I wear white or blue or whatever? are there different scubs that student nurses wear, what doctors wear , and whatever?
What about the white jackets that doctors and nurses wear, what are the rules on that?
Just exactly what are the "rules" on scubs or uniforms?
