Thread: I am NEW!!

    Re: I am NEW!!

First of all my name is WindingRoad. WR... If you notice I sign my posts WR,,, three commas for Becca.. I don't need extra commas...

Comforce is a farce. They pay poorly and weren't honest with me. You never get a second chance to make a good first impression. When someone who isn't a nurse tells me they know more than I do about my profession I tend to laugh and tell them where to put their ideas.. Right where the sun don't shine.

My..my..my what a busy little thread this has been. Illegal recruiter, administrators deleting posts, possible hijacking. Be that as it may, I would like to encouage you, louisianagal, to visit the Critical Care forum and help us get that off the ground. As for your question here, I'm confident WR will get back to you when she composes herself.O_S

I don't want to squash your dreams but you need to be ready for whatever comes along. Actually, if you are from a small hospital you may be more ready for the big league than you relize.

As a travel nurse you need to hit the floor running. You need to be able to take care of patients ASAP. These hospitals are on strict budgets and they can't "waste" time orienting an ICU nurse.

2 years would probably be the minimum. Of course you could ask for a small hospital and not a big teaching hospital if that's what you want and if they have needs.

Really you need to get hooked up with one or more travel companies and see what's out there.

I don't do ICU so I can't be of much help.

BTW my post that got deleted wasn't addressed to you. It was addressed to Comforce and I don't believe it was as bad as the one still standing here.

I am new also to traveling. I saw where there is no spam on this board. Can we ask about or mention specific travel companies? I am trying to find a good company to travel with and don't have a lot of people to ask. I am from Arkansas and would like somebody that is close by or at least someone I can contact whenever I need to.

Hi CaseyJean welcome to the forums. As a matter of fact there is an entire board on this forum just for Spam. That is where it is supposed to be posted.

I know this sounds stupid, but what exactly is spam? I thought it was when a specific company was mentioned. From reading some of these posts, I guess it is when a company posts specifically trying to get nurses to their site for hiring purposes?

    What is it?

There is an old saying when you open a can of Spam, one can never be sure what's in it. Likewise, the spammers have a link in the body of their message that they will entice you to open. Once opened, you have opened your computer to whatever diabolical program that they might have attached to the link. Spyware, virus etc.
