LOL no every one is not to blame just a few. Do you not think that they actually do this stuff? I know I didn't until it happened to me. I went through 25 years of nursing with the rose colored glasses on. I have to admit that you have given me something I have never had before. Are you like that with your patients? LOL I guess an inteligent conversation isn't possible with some people or they revert to Bla-Bla-Bla LOL. Thanks I haven't laughed this much in awhile. Now if any one can come up with real solutions besides Bla-Bla-Bla. let me know. That has got to be the biggest cop out I have ever seen.

sorry then can't give you any help because I stand for a big majority of my 12 hour shift as do the majority of the nurses I work with so couldn't understand how to do nursing without lots of standing. I did stand less when I did home health but that involved driving 200 miles for work a day then sitting in peoples homes or standing in their home doing dressing changes and medications but in the hospital it's run run run for me so nope I don't understand the ones I work with that don't run are the ones that don't do and we all get paid the same I just consider it work ethic.

then don't stand just walk the halls when you have nothing to do just just stand. It would be different if the run run run was the problem and you couldn't stand. Is there a rule that you have to stand in one place like in the military at attention or something? Guess I've never been lucky enough to stand for extended periods except at a door to chart something but that doesn't take all that long. When I worked nights on peds the LPN and I would walk up and down the hall for exercise and to stay awake if we had a slow night.....really you don't make alot of sense you want to work but sitting, standing and walking are bad not many jobs I can think of then.

You are just bound and determine to turn this around so that you can attack. WALKING in doors on a flat surface is not a problem, OUTSIDE on unlevel ground it causes severe leg and back pain due to my legs with limited motion. STANDING in one spot as in a job other than nursing is a problem. I know that nursing doesn't usually have a lot of standing in one spot, unless you are working in a LTC facility that has an unusual long med pass, then there might be a problem, usually I can compensate for that by moving around. But, every once in awhile I get an idiot that thinks it is not ok to do that. Have I clarified this for you. I have 30 degree flexion in my right leg and about 90 in my left leg. If you recall from anatomy you should be able to see why I have problems with sitting for long periods. It has to do with good posture that I am not able to do when I am sitting. Walkin down a grade causes a problem because I have a TKR and limited strenght in that leg. I was told that they can give me more mobility in my rt leg but that I would lose more strenght in it. I think I have said enough and that I am very capable of deciding what I am able to do. After 29 years I know what my body can and can't tolerate. Oh, by the way I also can't run, but I have passed out people running during an emergency. Must be the adrenaline. LOL

ok you win I am crazy but didn't know there were places where you nurse outside on uneven ground unless it's in the field in the military or mission work. And how long is a long med pass that would require standing in one place for a LONG TIME. I'd think (but sometimes I don't think too well) you'd stand at the med cart and get the med ready for that patient then WALK to give the med then walk back to the cart. How long does it take to put meds together especially if there are familiar patients with familiar meds. Yes I remember a little A&P also it was around before Ralph's and Albertson's. I think I remember a little about knees also working ortho/neuro. I have no sympathy, empathy, apathy or sense. I don't know why nobody will give you a job they should and allow you to do whatever you are able to do whenever you are able to do such things without regard to any other staffing needs or for that matter your own comfort and safety. The family that won't help you are dogs and should be chained in a pen as should the agency that is stealing your SS# and liscense#. The SS office should be shut down and while we're at it put all of the stupid social workers and police persons away too. I will get myself to church and say a few hail Mary's for the wretch I am.

could we drop this already. Oh my GOD!!!!! The only reason I had mentioned any of this was because it does interfere with different types of jobs, not just nursing. If you recall I asked if anyone knew how I could make some money until I found a job. Then we went to Mc D's etc. My fault, why I feel I need to explain myself so much is beyond me. Yhe only reason I am even on this site is because I am very depressed and need to talk/post. and I don't care if you call me pathetic either. I am getting desperate. and yes there are med passes that can take up to 3 hours and you are pretty much standing in one spot for a long time. and I have never been working as anurse where I didn't do just as much as other nurses if not more. Face it, I did along time ago, there are people who have a very narrow image of people that are not physically perfect. I deal with this nonsence all the time. But if you happen to know for a fact where an employee or the staff are not like let me know. Thank you. enough said but I have learned a lot from this forum. Just like when some one felt the need to tell me I limped I had no idea. LOL Biggotry is alive and flourishing.

    Iam,
First..this forum is generally a very compassionate forum.
Second..this compassion cannot penetrate your walls.
You came to this forum a while back complaining about your situation where you worked, made it clear that you were being persecuted, picked-on, and that you were made to feel worthless in your workplace. The information you gave was sparse and biased to the point that you just wanted to tell what you thought would get the sympathy vote and when that didn't happen instantly, and when people were interested in knowing more in order to hopefully give you educated information...YOU ATTACK! You become very personal and while you are quick to point out the flaws of others, insinutating that those who respond to you, with very few exception, are persecuting you, insincere, and cold. You might as well be pointing a finger back at yourself. Perhaps that is a primary reason you do NOT get the sympathy you desire and why you can't move forward in life. You don't say anywhere that I have read that you engaged at any point in a job rehabilitation situation or ever endeavored to be retrained for another field. You immediately dismiss everything anyone proposes to you as if we are a bunch of idiots. I agree that the thought of working at McD's is unappealing to most, but if that is all that will put food in your mouth or a roof over your head, then you are being wrongfully narrowminded about your options, if you have the capability to work in such a place. If you truly are disabled, then you should be able to get appropriate documentation from your physicians and obtain some form of compensation that way and in the meantime, I would urge you three things: First, seek a job retraining program to identify something else you might be good at that you have physical capability to do. Second, get some counselling for all the suicidal talk you do here, you are obviously crying out for help and finally...Please leave as you threatened to do. We definitely don't need someone threatening us constantly and belittling the greater group with offensive replies to our suggestions. Please, make a plan and go with it. Thank you.

first off there was no suicide talk. secondly I was very sincere when I asked if any one knew of a way that i could make money until I found a job. for some reason every rime I tried to explain that you attacked me. This was a friendly gesture on my part to explain. if you didn't want the information you didn't have to respond to the thread. I did not threaten any one. and I was under the impression that this was an open forum.

    Quotes directly from Iam's posts:

“To all those self rightious SOB's” …(no hate here?)

“I think it is sad when a nurse has to choose between begging, stealing or suicide.” (Thinking of death)

“No but it sure would be nice to know where I should go to lay down and die.” (wishing for death?)

“I may have bladder cancer .” (Something you just throw out there for us, like a bone. Is this really true? If so, my sympathies, truly. There really are treatments as my family has been through this. Or…is this just more talk of death?)

“If you recall I asked if anyone knew how I could make some money until I found a job. Then we went to Mc D's etc.” (So..I don’t understand. You ask, we give an opinion or idea, you trash that idea and then tell us we are a bunch of idiots?)

PLEASE…read your own posts before saying you don’t have a mental health issue and get yourself some help. The problems you have to discuss don’t belong in this forum and we probably can’t help you because you won’t let us suggest anything or “converse” with you in an open way without direct attack. You have shown repeatedly how much of a team player you really AREN’T. No surprise you aren’t working as far as I am concerned if you carry that attitude into your interviews. Let others talk WITH you back and forth and show them the same respect you seem to demand of us and then maybe you can find comfort in a forum such as this.
