Hey everyone! I was recently accepted into a nursing program, which will begin this August. I plan to obtain my ADN, then possibly go on to a BSN. As a male, I was intrigued when I began finding articles and info on males in the field of nursing. I hope to make some friends here, cause I've got a feeling that it is going to be a long ride!
CONGRATULATIONS!!! Getting into a nursing program is no small feat. I was like you - going to get my ADN then go on to get my RN, but the RN thing never happened.
If you plan on doing technical nursing, i.e., bedside care, then the BSN program isn't really necessary. If you want to go into management then you'll need that BSN. There's little to no pay difference between an ADN and BSN at the bedside.

HI RNBound......welcome to the forum.......hang in there.....we need more nurses and especially more male nurses.......take it one step.....one day.....one course at a time......study and complete your work early and don't fall behind........try to find a mentor......someone to help you through it all.........:luck:
