Hep B Vaccinations for CNA program?

I found a CNA program I want to enter, its in February. I am required to get certain vaccinations. That is not a problem. However, the Hep B vaccine is a series of three shots given over a 6 month period. I can't get shot #3 in time to start the program. However, I found out there is an accelerated version of the Hep B vaccine - I could get all 3 doses in 21 days...anyone know about this?

Hmm... I do not know about the accelerated version of the Hep B vaccine. You should ask your primary care giver (physician) about it and what does he/she think of it. Many nursing schools accept students who have started their Hep B vaccine yet did not get the 3rd shot prior to beginning the program. It should be OK for CNAs as well. Ask the CNA program coordinator about this. And do not forget to get your 3rd shot when the time comes...it's very important to have this vaccine as a health care worker because u don't want to contact this disease! Good luck!
