Thread: Hi everyone!

    Hi everyone!

    Hello!
I'm going to be a senior in high school next year, and I just decided that I would like to be a nurse. For a long time, I aspired to be a veterinarian, but, for the past year or so, it just didn't seem to fit. I kind of really realized I wanted to be a nurse when I was in a hospital for about a month last March, and the nurses there really made the stay bearable. If anyone could give me advice on good nursing colleges, how to get in, etc. I would really appreciate it. Thanks!

Hi, snowqueen! Glad to meet you. I would suggest looking at your local Community College, and getting many of your prerequisites out of the way. There may be a waiting list for Nursing classes, but if you work as a CNA, you can get some valuable training there.

    Hope you drop by often!

    Re: Hi everyone!

I will (hopefully) be enrolled in the CNA class this spring. The one in the fall is full. Unfortunately, I can't get too many of my pre-reqs out of the way. I am homeschooled, and the first three years of my high school were kind of screwed. Its back on track now, but I have to try reallly hard just to get the necessary high school credits out of the way. I have to take physics and chemistry next year. My brilliant home school counselor told me to take seven years of English, but only two each of math and English. They didn't even want me to take geometry. Talk about moronic! Anyways, thanks for the help.
