Our client is the only acute-care, full-service hospital in south Arlington. Nearly 500 board certified or board eligible physicians representing more than 40 specialties are on staff. The hospital offers round-the-clock care, with state-of-the-art services and facilities. Our client realizes that good health requires more timely, skilled medical treatment. That's why the hospital offers educational and preventive programs for area residents - many of which are free of charge. And they are the hospital and rehabilitation provider for the local pro sports teams.

Description
The Nurse Manager provides leadership to an assigned nursing unit(s) with responsibility for planning, directing and evaluating the patient care and services provided. The tasks and responsibilities include:

• Manages personnel in the accomplishment of designated goals and the provision of nursing care and services.
• Manages the provision of adequate and competent staffing.
• Evaluates effectiveness of care in producing desired patient outcomes.
• Addresses any issues that affect the desired patient outcomes.
• Ensures that age and culturally appropriate care is given.
• Ensures departmental compliance with regulatory and JCAHO requirements.
• Monitors and adheres to annual hospital operating budget.
• Implements cost-effective strategies in staffing and supply management decisions.
• Assists staff in providing patient care and services as needed.
• Follows Standard Precautions using personal protective equipment as required for procedures.

Required Job Qualifications include:
• Current licensure as an RN
• Current CPR Healthcare Provider certification
• Current ACLS
• Graduate from an accredited school of professional nursing.
• Bachelor's Degree in Nursing
• Minimum of 5 years of recent experience in Operating Room Nursing.
• At least 2 years management experience (within a single institution).
• Has been a manager with consistency and with tenure
• Strong clinical knowledge in surgical nursing.
• Cardiovascular open heart experience, general surgery & pediatrics
• Customer service abilities including effective listening skills.
• Critical thinking skills, decisive judgment, strong communication skills and leadership abilities.
