I'm leary of this practice. I don't believe I want all my information out in cyberspace. Some recruiters are cold calling at work now. They get a big X on their name for that tactic alone.

There are several companies out there I don't want to have my information. They tend to become ruthless with it.

Some companies are submitting nurses for positions the nurse has never asked to be submitted to and the traveler doesn't even work for the company in question.

NOPE. I'll submit my information to the few select companies I have researched and want to do business with.

Thanks.

Re: Let the Travel Companies compete for you!

Agencies should NEVER submit your name to a job without your approval first!!

At 8 North Staffing, we do not require information on you until you have decided to pursue a particular travel job. At that point, we begin to collect your information. If at some point, there is a reason to apply for multiple jobs, 8 North will NOT submit your name to another position without your consent FIRST!! It is unethical to do it otherwise.

Just my two cents....your friendly recruiter!

What they SHOULD do and what they do do are two different things. And I've seen numerous companies who say they don't but when the chips are down they do.

Many companies don't have a good rein on their recruiters. Many recruiters do whatever it takes to get that commission.

I just don't believe nurses need a clearinghouse for their information. Be selective in who you submit information to.

Many travel nurse companies have high ethical standards but where money and contracts are concerned those ethics seem to erode.

I've been in this business for almost 5 years. I've seen it happen, it's happening now,and it will continue to happen.

Re: Let the Travel Companies compete for you!

I agree with what you are saying! I have had recruiters do some pretty horrible things to people, like play on their fears to get them to back out of a job with my company so they can place them with another job (and another agency).

Nurses DO NOT need a clearinghouse for your information! I agree with you on that, too!

Recruting isn't about commissions. It is about relationships. My goal is to place people in jobs they want, with good employers, and in locations they want to be so their experience is excellent!! I want them as my clients for the long run!! Not just for that placement! I want to be the first peerson that they think of when it is time to travel again! Actually, I would already be in contact with them so we know where to go next.

Also, my organization is a small national company that has high ethical standards! It also has very high standards for the recruiters! It has just what you are looking for! And it follows the message you are stating in your writings!

So I believe we are both on the very same page!!

So you work for nothing. PLLLLLLLLLLLLLLEEEEEEEEEEEEEEASE. A recruiter is working for him/herself and as soon as travel nurses realize that the better off they will be.

I laugh when TN's ( travel nurses) tout an honest recruiter. HOW do they know the recruiter is honest. Because they say so? I don't think so.

This is a business propositon. It is not a pajama party/sleep over. A recruiter works for ME. I pay their weekly income. If I don't work for them they don't make any money on me.

Sorry to burst your bubble. I've had recruiters tell me I'm the best nurse they have. I've never worked for them. How do they know I'm the best nurse. It's called Salesman 101.

Please don't try to fool us. Thanks.

BTW why dont' you name your "small NATIONAL company" or is that an oxymoron?

Re: Let the Travel Companies compete for you!

I did name my company....8 North Staffing! Check it out! Travel Nurse Staffing Agency, Traveling Nurse Employment: 8.North.Staffing And I'm only speaking for myself as a recruiter. No you can't believe I'm honest because I say so or because a company says so. They need to prove it! Plus smaller companies offer personal service which may be missing in the larger company arenas.

I agree, recruiters work for the nurses!! Do I work for nothing? No, none of us do! I get paid for what I do, as do you. If a recruiter works for you, then it matches my goal of wanting our relationship to be one of staying together for the long run. Me working for YOU!!

Again, I think we are saying the same things just in different ways!

I have a lot of RN positions available if you are interested in giving us/me an opportunity to win you over!!! Drop me a line @ pottsj@8northstaffing.com

Re: Let the Travel Companies compete for you!

The services provided by www.RNTravelWeb.com let travel assignments find nurses instead of the other way around. We are real people behind the website and agree with all of you that there are companies out there participating in practices that are less than professional and we do not condone these practices in anyway!

Submitting your Quick Profile at www.RNTravelWeb.com does not mean your information is submitted to a hospital; it is simply being submitted to professional travel companies that want to compete for you.

All the best,
The RNTravelWeb.com Team

When travel companies compete for you, you get exactly what you want and need.
