UK RN to USA

G'Day folks,

As a trainee doing a BSc in Nursing I am enquiring how do I get to work in the USA.

1. Do I need to ensure Degree parity with the USA, or is my degree accepted.

2. I understand I have to do take an NCLEX exam, is this correct.

3. I understand I have to take a State exam also, is this correct.

4. I understand I have to be an RN in the UK before I can venture over to do any of the above, is this right?

Can anyone give me some pointers and some solid information on this. Has anyone there gone from the UK to the USA recently?

Help!!!!

Cheers, Alex

Re: UK RN to USA

You might want to talk to Ron Durham at Absolute Nursing. (513) 533-0880. He has a lot of experience with various agencies. He has helped me a number of times. If he can't help you, I'll bet he can point you in the right direction.

Also, tell him Terry McD. sent you. Good luck.
