Santa Fe, NM--Postpartum /Newborn

I am wondering if I would qualify for a travel position. I am from South Dakota and will be be staying in Santa Fe, NM for the next few months. The majority of my experience has been in OB. I worked in a small hospital in OB doing Antepartum, Labor and delivery, postpartum and nursery for about two years after I graduated in 1989. I was then hired by our state university to be a clinical nursing instructor in OB (BS/RN students),which I did until 2001. After two years off to care for an ill family member I went back to being a clinical instructor for LPN students. I was hired to do OB, but due to a shortage of clinical sites, the director placed me in a VA hospital on an extended-care /rehab floor. I have been doing that for the past three years(approximately 24 hours per week on the floor). I have also been teaching childbirth classes weekly at our local hospital for the past 15 years. As a travel nurse I would feel the most comfortable working in a mother/baby unit, as that was my main focus for 13 years. I do need to renew my NALS certification and would need a little orientation(mostly equipment related). Would a travel company be willing to take me on with this background? Also, what is a per diem assignment-and is that something negotiated through a travel company, or through the hospital itself. Here we have PRN staff-is that the same thing?
I appreciate your feedback!
