| RN jobs north carolina My husband and I are thinking of moving from the New Haven, CT area to the Wilmington, North Carolina area in two years time. I am wondering about nurse salaries down there and what types of positions are usually open. I have 27 years experience, 24 of which were in acute care. I have done general medicine, general surgery, gyn surgery, ortho, neuro and adult medical oncology. I am currently the Supervisor of a 132 bed long term care and rehab facility. I earned $68,000.00 last year working two twelve hour shifts weekends and one eight hour shift during the week. I would be looking for a similar arrangement, ie weekends and one shift during the week. I'm also wondering whether I should go back to acute care so as to have more recent experience when we move. I hate to do that since I love my job, but just wondered if anyone thought that would be necessary. Any info anyone has about working as an RN in North Carolina would be helpful. Any additional information about what it's like to live there would be helpful, too. I have two sons who will be getting ready for college and North Carolina has a wonderful state university system. One of them wants to go to UNC Wilmington. I do not have a degree, just a diploma and lots of experience. I'm hoping my next job move would be to an inpatient hospice setting. Thanks. |
