question for recruiters

I am an RN with one year of cardiac critical care experience. I plan on traveling to CA at the end of the summer. I'm looking for an ICU position, nights, in San Francisco. I've been told by 2 recruiters that I might be "difficult to place" because I have no travel experience. However, they were quick to offer me positions in LA and Oakland. Are the positions in San Fran really that difficult to get or are the recruiters needing to place nurses elsewhere?

It's possible that they are trying to fill other needs but generally 2 yrs of travel is preferred by many hospitals.

Experience

Experience is always the peferred method, but every travel nurse had to start somewhere, thats how they became experience in traveling. You mayhave to find a company willing to send you out as a firsttime traveler and a facility in San Fran willing to accept a first-time traveler. Keep researchng and don't settle for the first couple things offered.
