| I have never traveled before and am looking to go to California for a 13 week assignment. Top pay is a must since my husband will be coming along and we will still have our primary home. I am interested in the San Diego, San Francisco, or Los Angeles Area. I have 14 months ICU experience. Thanks, Jill ![]() |

| n cal pays better than southern cal. oakland is now the highest paying. cal has high tax rates consider a company that has some kind of per diem (tax free money given to you in lieu of pay reducing your tax liability. ) per deim with hospitals in cal pays really well. 67 an hour walking in the door. apply on line to hospitals befor you go so you have something when you get there in addition to your travel assignment. you only have to do one day a week or 4 days a month to have per diem status with hospitals. i just left ucsf last week. they are the lowest paying in san fran, but the only place with 12 hour shifts. most in northern cal have 8 hours five days a week. stay away from the jobs with phillipino nurse managers cuz there are alot of those kind of nurses that you will work with under those managers and i nor anyone else that is not like they are does not have a good time. |

| Re: Looking for first travel assignment HI there I highly recommend that you choose two or three companies to speak with at one time you dont want to limit yourself to one or on the flip side too many . Recruiters all have different styles and all the companies are very different in how they treat their nurses. Find a couple that are really in it for you and not the money game. You want to be paid well but you dont want to be left out it the cold if something should happen. I am a recruiter now but I was also a nurse at on time... i feel your frustation on where to begin. I dont know if I can get you what your looking for but i will be more than happy to help you find someone who will. Happy Holidays OCtober ![]() |

We staff our RN's at top quality hospitals where we vendor manage the hospitals so we do the work for the Unit Managers so they don't have to search for RN's. We have been in the business of placing medical staff for 40 years. We are a solid company but our travel name is not out there because we service all applicants in all forums of medical staffing. Our hospitals requested that we find them travel RN's. COMFORCE Travel Nurse Unlimited - Nurse Staffing, Apply Now, Jobs is the website for the travel department. We get top pay that is very competitive at our hospitals in the Orange, LA, Northern and Central areas of California. Please feel free to email me if you need any help getting assignments in California. We always have them and they are also renewable. |
