Inactive license

HI. I am a Florida RN. I moved to Norway 7 years ago and placed my license in " inactive". I have worked as an RN ( licensed) in Norway all this time. I know that I will need CEU's but do the nursing boards give credit for working abroad? I notice that they state that if one hasnt been working as a nurse for over 5 years then one must take a refresher course. I would like to move back to the USA and possibly take a travel job. How difficult would this be with my inactive license?

Re: Inactive license

Hi,

As long as you put your license inactive status with the board of nursing and has worked as a nurse overseas, you shouldn't have any problems getting your license active again. You would have to do your CEU's, which you can do online. If you would like, I can check into the board of nursing for you and make sure that you wouldn't have any problems. Let me know. Also, if you do plan on traveling please do go to our website and download an application or email me your address to have one mailed.

Sincerely,

Michele Risard, Nurse Recruiter

Another great site to check out is www.nursys.com. They provide specifc steps required to gain licensure.
