    Liscense changes

I got my KY nurses monthly update newsletter. Seems we're going to yearly renewal. LPN's did odd years and RN's even years and they say they didn't have enough money during the LPN years and had to save from the RN years so now we're going to pay $60 every year everybody...any other states going to this?
It could be a pain in the behind especially if you carry many liscenses and aren't compact. I don't think KY would ever go compact.

That's a pretty odd situation. Here in Jersey RN's are good for two years and everyone renews at the same time.

2yr renewal here, and it's all at the same time for us, too.

It's KY's way of pulling in a little more money I think. The CEU's are going to be cut in 1/2 but you have to do that many every year instead of every 2 (I've got enough this month for the next 4 years so it's never been a problem) They are also going to start letting LPN's push medications here if they have a course...it wasn't too long ago that they took one to be able to start IV's (maybe 10 years)

We have to renew yearly in Louisiana.Everyone does, all of our licenses expire on January 31.I have also held licenses in N.Y and New Jersey and it was so much better because I only had to renew them every two years.

CEU's are never a problem for us, we are required to have 40 Hrs of training per year by our employer. We only need 25/2 years based on the state req.
