Thumbs up traveling eh?

My lease will be up in may, and I'm anxious to hit on the road, start seeing the world while doing what I love. Only 24yrs old but I've been caring for patients 10+ yrs now, started as a candystriper then NA, tech, student, now RN x2yrs and soon to have my CCRN.

Looks like plenty of work out there for us, but I've done some brief research and can't seem to find any good review or comparison sites for agencies. Mainly found complaints as to be expected, usually no one rants and raves about how great their job is. Also what are some of he big negs involved cuz so far it seems like all perks: I can take my pets, 401K's, immed benefits, paid housing, oh and traveling of course. I'm not looking for buncha bonuses and obviously didn't get into this profession for the big bucks, just concerned about safety, well being etc.

I have plenty of time to do more research but any tidbits would be greatly appreciated. Oh and what about testing an agency /assignment in my home town first? Do people do that, good idea?

Thanks and best wishes to all you wonderful nurses out there!

Re: traveling eh?

Hi, Serenah, and welcome to the site! I'm glad to meet you.

Re: your traveling: Of course, what works for one person, doesn't necessarily work for another person. However, your giving a local agency a try may be a good idea. Don't know why people who have a good match don't always mention it. :whatever:

Let us know how things go, and hope to see many more of your posts.
