Smile Traveler from Kentucky

Hi everyone! I just signed up a few days ago & think this board is great! I've been a nurse for 17 yrs (RN since '05, and LPN before that). I've been traveling since July, and am currently in Omaha,NE. This board will be an excellent resource for me!

Hi, Fawn! Nice to meet you. How many years were you an LPN? I'd done that route, too.

Re: Traveler from Kentucky

So Miss fawn
What is nursing like in Kentucky? I am interested in going there...I know there is great music there and wonder if travel nursing could be my. I really like the old time hillbilly music, what part of Kentucky would be my best bet? And do they have safe patient to staff ratios in Kentucky? Do you know anything about West Virginia as well? Thankyou and have fun traveling!

Re: New Member!

Hi Nursesong,
I was posting a response to your msg, but got booted off & don't know if it went through...Glad you're interested in KY & the old-timey music. Ky really is pretty, esp the eastern region moving on toward WV. The music can be found all over. Lots of nursing opportunities, but the staffing ratios can be high (1:7 on a m/s trauma unit is common, 1:5 if things are good). Lots of hospitals, all specialties, you name it.As for WV, i would love to travel there, but those assignments are few & far between. What is it like in Idaho? Fawn
