The amount of time you are out of work can vary from 3-6 months to 18 months. You will have supervision when you return.:luck:
hello everyone!
i had no idea there was such a network out here. i am working in the field of employee assistance as well as bing a peer assistance link to the community.
i am looking for research or guidelines in regards to how much clean time should a nurse in early recovery have before going to work in the field of addiction? as a recovering person, i have heard from program folks that you should have 2 years clean. i have also heard others say a year clean is okay. are any of you aware of any articles or maybe even a facility that might have some sort of guidelines.?
i would really appreciate your help.
thanks and nice to meet you all!

I asked to return to work after 6 months. My DEC (diversion evaluation committee) allowed me to return to non-patient care which I then did for 15 months. Then I returned to patient care with narcotic restriction for 90 days which they then lifted.
