Help needed!!! Lpn on becoming RN

    :confused:hello everyone,

where are all the RNs that were once LPNs? was it worth going back for? i am currently taking prerequisite classes for the RN program but am torn between getting my RN license and leaving nursing altogether. i am confused as to whether or not it would even be worth staying in the field or not (with being treated unfairly, no appreciation, getting cursed out for no reason by some patients, and rude mds). the only good thing i know is that the job is recession proof and the job opportunities are with an RN license are almost endless. What do you all think?

I haven't been an LPN but if you are going to stay in nursing the difference in RN pay and LPN pay in the long run is a good sum and the avaliability of RN jobs is more then LPN jobs...the rest is pretty much the same I think...you can only be treated as badly as you let someone treat you.

I'm an RN who was an LPN at one time. Yeah, was in your shoes, too: The one MD who'd hang up on you when you'd call for orders/pass on labs......

To be honest, I'd rather have the license then regret it later on down the road. One of my class mates went on to be a licensed esthetician, so the licensure does help.

    There IS hope out there!
