new harried member Hello everyone, I am currently on spring break from the college where I teach in the ADN program. I am also at the point where I have just the dissertation to complete for my EdD degree. I have a Masters degree in Nursing Education. We are currently dealing with the micromanagement of the state system in how we run our program, including the curriculum and objectives.:frustrated:

Re: new harried member Hi, there! You have my sympathy on the cause of your harrried-ness. I was on the advisory board for a state community college system that had an LPN and an ADN program. It was amazing to me how many tangles they had to unravel every budget cycle that were caused by the bureaucracy and, more specifically, the fickle budgeting commitments from state legislators. It definitely came under the heading of management by committee. And somewhere in there, the poor educators were supposed to be teaching folks how to be good nurses, a mission they felt pretty passionately about. I tell you truly sometimes it seemed to me to be a Herculean challenge. Do you plan to continue teaching in this ADN program after you complete your degree? Melodee P. ![]()

Re: new harried member Everyone, I think I will be looking at other non-NCLEX-RN attached programs after I get the degree. My dissertation topic is looking at leadership styles of nurse educators and student performance.
