New to forum need advice

I am an Emergency Room Rn in an 18 bed unit level 2 trauma center. I have worked as an er rn since 1996 and for the last 6 years have been part time, working seven twelve hour shifts each month. My previous experience was in ICU for six years. Our hospital(250 beds) is starting a Pallative Nurse Care program and I've been offered the position.
This is quite a change from what I've been doing. I'm concerned about coming back full time and in a salaried position. I will be setting up the entire program and the hospital will send me to school to obtain my certification.
They have offered me a 10% raise to $30.00/hr.
For those of you that do this work I seek advice, any you can offer!! I'm concerned about getting bored from what I'm use to doing in my current position and about coming back to a full time position, where to find resources and support.
Any and all advice will be greatly appreciated!!

Re: New to forum need advice

First off, welcome aboard!

I can't speak for anyone but myself, but to me that is more of a commitment than I would be willing to make.

Of course, any long term employment commitment is not something I'd be interested in:yikes:.

If you think it's what you want to do, I say go for it!
If you're unsure, then you have some serious thinking to do.
If it's money, ask for more than 30. They can only say no...

Anyway, don't listen to me, I have no experience with such issues.

:welcomescroll: and :luck:

Let us know what you decide.

Supposedly 8 out of 10 people suffer from hemorrhoids. Does that mean that the other 2 people enjoy them???
