No pinning ceremony. I'm an online/distance learning satellite student. We have a graduation, but the school decided for us that noone would want to travel for a pinning. Most of us were not happy about it..but oh well.
Thanks
Welcome to the forum and to nursing April. I look forward to reading your threads and replies.

Would you tell me more about your online/distance classes?
I am new here, this is my 1st post and I am trying to get a feel of the forum. I am not sure if I understand well yet & hope it is not exclusive to travel nurses, because I am not!
I am an ICU RN for the last 8 years, already!
I am still learning and currently studying for the CCRN.
I am originally from Québec, Canada but now lives in NY state. Love the people here, very friendly!:houra:
Hope to meet more buddies on this site!
Take care of yourself and others!:houra:

Hi, Connie! Nice to meet you! I don't travel, either, unless you consider the trek to and from work the past few years. Before that, I was an Agency/Home Health nurse.
You'll get the hang of the site pretty quick. Hope you drop by often!

I hope it's not just for traveling nurses..as I don't plan to.
Distance learning...it's a combination of satellite classes and online classes. The satellite classes are done via television and an online chatroom. We can chat with the professor while he/she teaches...so we can ask questions. The prof. just can't see the students.
The program I used is through University of South Dakota. The Good Samaritan Society (nursing home) teamed up with them to start the first completely online/distance program for RN. I never went to campus (except orientation). All my clincials were set up within 60 miles of me. It is a wonderful program...I could not have done it with 3 kids without their set up.
