Talking new bait to nursing

hello everyone!...i am 17 years old and I'm from NJ. I'm just finishing h.s and going straight into nursing. It seems a little bit intimidating to post in here because everyone is much older and more experienced. To me thats great because i want a look into how it really is to be a nurse and not just what they tell you about in school. i was going for LPN but my family was not pleased with the decision so i am now going for RN. feel free to message me. BYE!!

:waving: Welcome to the site!

So the family wants you to do the straight RN bit, eh? Weelll....I did the LPN to RN route. I got experience, and managed to put myself through the BSN program when I DID return to school. Good luck! Stop by when you are able.

Re: new bait to nursing

OMG, 17 yrs old and goals of becoming a nurse. OUTSTANDING!!!

We need some young blood, ASAP. If your parents are paying for your education, then go for RN. Heck, see if they will pay for MSN, too!

BTW, don't feel intimidated here, or anywhere else, okay? The nursing profession [including school] will toughen you up real quick. If you can not advocate for yourself, then how can we advocate for our patients?
