    Would like to Travel

I have different companies contacting me, I do not want to choose a bad one so if I can get feedback it would be appreciated. It is a stretch but I would like to have set days for an assignment? I work full-time in Las Vegas but looking for travel assignment for southern California.

Cool Re: Would like to Travel

There is a review section here that you might want to take a look at. Even though it is pretty outdated, some of the opinions might be of use, or even still valid. Or you could do a search for the particular companies that you are interested in. Don't travel myself. Just from reading up on the experiences of some, I decided that is too much for me. Think that regular jobs are bad enough! Good luck with getting a decent assignment with a decent company!

Hey stat nurse.com supports the SF area ....
I have talked with them and they are pretty busy group...
I have friends that have worked that work for a great group of people and they actually dont try to rook you around on wages . On assignment talk to Scott H. Theres alot of the fly by night ones but they are pretty nice and do what they say they will do. Where in Ca do you want to work >I am going to probably go out to the strikes coming up in April in SF area . Let me know

    Where do you live?
The strike is actually at Stanford from what I understand now if you call On assignment they will tell you they havent gotten the 10 day notice I have prowled around alot on the net about it and actually found where by the laundry service workers will be affected and just stumbled onto it .Alot of those companies send out the carrotts to get you hooked before the notice goes out and promise wages that arent legit and take out your hotel and expenses watch out they are pretty sly .I heard alot of them really try to out wit you with their crooked ways . Remember fine print ! and everything in writing they will promise the moon . Its dog eat dog out here and you have to be a business woman ! They mistake nurses for dummies when it comes to money!

Hi, I am a perioperative travel RN, working in CA right now. I know that USC University Hospital needs nurses in a lot of areas right now ...they have just expanded their surgery cases, more surgeons and increased their patient beds a lot and opened new units. I work for Emerald based in Marina del Rey CA ) right now, they might have assignments there. Also, I believe Cross Country may have some as well. You can compare different travel companies easily at Highway hypodermics .com....although, not all companies have openings in So Cal. The strike mentioned by others in this thread may also be a way to break into an travel assignment in CA. Good Luck!

Thanks for the input. Emerald is one of the ones that is working with me. It is hard for me to get a travel assignement for sun, mon, or tues. I have a full time job in vegas and looking to commute to Inland Empire, Pasadena, Glendale, Hollywood area. Hopefully something will come up soon.
