| hi...looking for advice Hello to all...I am yet another "probie" (I love NCIS) to this website. I am not necessarily looking to travel, but a lot of folks I know do travel. What I am looking for is someone who might have done any travel nursing in central washington (state) area. I am wondering about a couple of places I am looking to apply and wanted some inside info; you know are people nice, treat you respectfully, etc. I am not too concerned about wages, since my understanding is they are decent. IF anyone out there knows anything or knows someone else who knows something, can you pass this along?? I would be most grateful. Oh yeah. I am an ER/Flight nurse, never worked in anything else (???short attention span???) and have about 11 years as a nurse. Nice to meet you all.....too bad it couldn't be in person. Oh and I have an IDEA to make all of us nurses STAND AND BE THE PROUD FOLKS WE KNOW WE ARE. What do you think would happen to our nursing institution, if ALL OF US NURSES decided not to be hospital employees, but banded together like the docs and then presented our "Group" to the hospital. We could name OUR terms and have a buttload more self-respect. Just a wild andcrazy thought, but I would love to see this happen, not only for us, but for our kids who might, just might, follow down our professional paths. Cheers and to all a Happy New Year. Evilflightnurse (I'm not TOO evil..... ) |

| Re: hi...looking for advice I am suprised nobody has responded to your post! I have worked in a few facilities in central Washington. My favorite is in Pasco Washington, in the ICU. They are a faith based facility that seems to really care about the patients. You will see a lot of Latino patients. They staff well, at least in the ICU. Another facility I enjoyed was Pullman. They built new hospital a few years ago and it is really nice. And the staffing when I was there was really good. I did not like Yakima Regional, but I only worked there a day. It was per diem work and I refused to go back. Their nurses were so short and yet they called me off 2 out of 3 shifts. I had driven almost 200 miles to help them out. I worked for an agency called Medcall Northwest, and they are honest and fair. I have a frie nd working ER in Walla Walla but am not sure which hospital, he loves it. I hope this helps. |
