Hello all I am a 2nd semster adn nursing student and just joined your forum here and looking forward to getting to know you all -I am 51 yrs old last time I was in school was 1972 so my first semester was a little hard for me but I finished it with a 4.0 GPA so I am over the jitters a little now and this semester I start with A&P 1 and lab. I currently live in Tampa,Florida but I was born and raised in Georgia.Well just wanted to say Hi to everyone and looking forward to getting to know you all

It does seem to take courage for those of us in our 40s-50s to get out there and start (or restart) something new. I myself have been a stay at home mom for quite a few years...I am glad I did it but that position can breed low confidence if we are not careful.

Regarding "age"--what do folks do to compensate for memory problems which seem to be typical?

When I worked on a med surg. floor in the way past, there was not always time to write everything down. Also, it was not cool to write down the pt.'s info (say on a clipboard) and take the chance of leaving said notes in another patient's room!!
