| Hi everyone! New here! Hi everyone! I am excited to find a forum dedicated to nursing and so glad to be here!! After I graduated high school in 2001, I went straight to college to pursue a degree in nursing. At the end of that program I would have a Associate Degree and be licensed as an RN. I had one semester left to go before graduating when I found out I was pregnant with my first daughter. Then a few weeks later I took my final at the end of third semester. I missed the grade by 1/10th of a point!! It was awful, I was SO devastated!! Since I was newly pregnant, it was at that time that I decided to put nursing school on hold and become a stay-at-home mommy. So that's what I have been doing for the past three years. I am now 24 yrs old, have been married to my husband since May 2003...we'll celebrate our 5th wedding anniversary this year!! And we have two adorable little girls........... Jillian, my oldest is 2 1/2 yrs old and Addison is 9 months old. I have decided that now is the time to go back and finish what I started and get that nursing degree!! It's something I have wanted to do since high school. I really developed a passion for nursing in high school and it really is a dream of mine. I am going to go a little different route this time though. I will be going through an LPN program first, which will take me 11 months. Then once I get my LPN, later on I will challenge into the RN program and get my associate degree. I think it will be easier on my family if I do it this way. So I am really excited about this new journey I am about to start in my life. I know it will be hard at first to leave my sweet daughters but it will be so good for our family in the long run, not to mention a huge accomplishment for me. So anyway, I really look forward to getting to know everyone. Nurses are my heros! |
