| Hi Everybody! Hey I'm looking to join the army as a medic to get some experience because I want to be nurse in the civilian sec. I'm curious as to if I really can get a Bachelors in nursing while I'm on active duty, and if my combat medic experience will actually mean anything in the nursing world? Just advice and information is all I'm looking for, as I know recruiters don't always tell the truth lol... |

| Re: Hi Everybody! Your experience as an army medic will be invaluable to you and your patients. It may make you miss some test questions and you may have times in school where just have to learn it the way the prof wants it, but in the scheme of things its not that important. I was an EMT on an ambulance before I became an RN. It has really helped me working in the ER and overall I think it made school easier. Good luck! |

Yeh the above post is absolutely right... although it will be good experience, in nursing school the right answers are those that you read in the book, regardless of wether you would EVER actually do that or not ... it stinks but that's just the way you get through nursing school.
