    New start

Hello everyone, my name is Jacob. I have been in healthcare for over eight years(financial) and I decided to go back to school to work towards an RN degree. I am in my intro classes at this time, only able to go part time. I should (if calculations are correct) be in the RN program by August of 2008. Since I do not have a degree I am being required to take all basics over again. O'well, it is what it is. I enjoy being around people. This change in my career is very exciting and scary at the same time. Any advice would be greatly appreciated. I was wanted to start meeting people and start learning about the real world before I actually get there. I work around a lot of nurses and they all say the same thing, what you are tought in school is nothing compared to what the real world will teach you. I currently live in Atlanta, GA and I love it here. My goal is to become a traveling nurse and work with different cultures around the world. Anyway, I think I am rambling on. I look forward to hearing from some of you and reading about your life experciences.

    Jacob

Welcome to the site, Jacob! Nice to meet you.

It is true: what you learn in school is 'text book cases'. It is the 'odd ball cases' that really snarl you up. However, this is all part of the learning process. I am sure you will enjoy nursing. Keep us posted on things, hear?
